DIY Body Scrub for Soft Smooth Skin

I’ve wanted to do a DIY Body Scrub post for a long time since I have been making and using these for quite some time now. These body scrubs are a budget friendly and natural option for skincare. They remove all the dead cell build up and the oils in the scrub remain on the body to moisturize after use. This scrub will also help in removing a tan because of the lemon juice.

I made my scrub using a variety of natural ingredients. The result I always get after using those ingredients is a lovely vanilla smelling coconutty scrub with lemon and oat chunks. Keep reading to find out!
How to make a body scrub diyDIY Sugar Oatmeal Body Scrub.

DIY Body Scrub Ingredients:

Brown Sugar (You can substitute this with regular white sugar too but brown sugar is more grainy and suits the purpose of scrubbing)

Oatmeal (If you have jumbo oats mash them in a mortar)

Coconut Oil (This is optional for those who do not like coconut oil)

Olive Oil (You can use any oil: coconut , olive, almond etc , whatever you like)

Lemon Juice

Vanilla Powder (Do not use the vanilla extract used in baking)

What each ingredient does:

Brown Sugar: The course grainy brown sugar helps in scrubbing away dead cell build up

Oatmeal: Dead skin exfoliation and skin cleansing. Also good for getting rid of itchy skin and redness

Coconut Oil: An excellent skin moisturizer, nourisher and emollient

Olive Oil: A great moisturizer rich in vitamin A and E

Lemon Juice: Great for getting rid of a tan.

Vanilla Powder: Just for fun! I love the smell of vanilla.

How much should you use of each ingredient?

The brown sugar and oatmeal are to be used as a base for the scrub. Everything else depends on what you choose to add to this scrub. You can skip any of the above ingredients due to personal choice and even add some of your own. Do not add too much lemon juice though.

Let me know how this scrub works out for you! 🙂

I don’t think I’ll be travelling to Mumbai before I go. I was discussing the sam with Isha that I won’t be able to meet her. But she will come to Canada and meet me. You also do the same. Canada is awesome and we’ll have a blast!

Vanilla extract. It’s the liquid version of the powder. Vanilla just helps give it a nice smell. If you don’t have access to the extract either, then just skip adding it.
